Oh what a beautiful sight!

After a really busy and successful week with lots of fun newborns, maternity, and family shoots, my family and I decided to head out of town for some R and R! We headed up to a small lake in WA and had so much fun. It was our first camping trip for the year. I always feel a little rusty the first time out, like I am working with two left hands every time I attempt to cook or do anything. My husband and son got a little fishing in and we even got to see some snow, which my son was totally shocked by. It was fun to watch his brain try and figure out why there was snow around. He said, "So mommy... it must have snowed a lot last night to have snow on the ground today!" Anyways, by the end of our weekend, the kids were as dirty as they could possibly be and we all had recevied our fair dose of sun and fun. It was a blast! The kids had a ball and it just felt awesome to be back in nature for a while! I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend too! Have a happy Monday!

Tiny little miracles!

I had the pleasure of being a part of a wonderful maternity session today. The mother is in her 37th week of pregnancy and looks amazing!!! Their little daughter was a doll as well! She just wandered in close to her mom during the session as if she knew that was exactly what she was supposed to do! Oh and we can't forget the dads.. because without them being so flexible, we would not have these images to share with our children forever. Thank you to family S for making my afternoon so enjoyable. You were all beautiful troopers!! All my best to you as you prepare for tiny miracle number 2!

It's Windy Again!!

These are a few images from a recent wedding that my friend and I shot in Kansas. It was so much fun to work with such a great friend! Hats off to the bride and groom who endured a day full of the most intense wind I have felt in a long time! They were such champs and their images prove it! The people that pulled together to make their wedding day such a beautiful and memorable one is just so amazing to me! I just love small towns! Anyways...I could go on and on about this bride and groom and all their amazing friends and family! All the best to you both and thank you so much for letting me share in such a special day with you!

Dorothy is back!!

Well I am back and just trying to get situated again. I had a wonderful time in Kansas. I stayed with the most wonderful and hospitable family ever. It was so refreshing and simple. We even weathered a few storms and serious amounts of wind. Our bride was such a champ with natures elements!!! I have many images to post from the wedding but just havent had a chance. I have been reconnecting with my kiddos and trying to get my life back on track! It is amazing how much we rely on internet access and cell phones to stay in touch with the world! I didnt have either and came home to over 100 emails! So if it seems like I am slow in responding to you... it is because I am!!! Thank you so much in advance for your patience!! I will get back to you just as soon as I can! Until then.. I hope you are all happy and well!!! :)

Johnny Keener

So I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph a local children's musician, who is actually featured on my website... Johnny Keener. He is from West Virginia, but lives in Portland with his wife. He plays at the Children's Museum every Wednesday and also plays for birthday parties and local farmer's markets. You should check him out for your next children's birthday party!! He is great with kids!
